​CHILI COOK OFF RULES

​

First off, this is a fun & friendly event!  Yes, it’s a “competition”, but it is meant to be a good time for the Bone Haus community … both for contestants and for guests. There will be prizes, but that is NOT what this is about. “Winners” basically get bragging rights for a full year... and a Bone Haus Gift Card! Please keep this in mind throughout the event and help everyone enjoy a fun Sunday afternoon!

• Registration is FREE!  All contestants will receive a $0.01 pint of Bone Haus beer of their choice.
   

• Maximum of 20 contestants.  The first 20 to complete the registration below will be included in the competition.
   

• All contestants must pre-register on this page; no walk-ups will be accepted on the day of the event.
   

• Contestants must sign-in at the registration upon arrival. Chili station setup is from 12:00pm to 12:30pm.
   

• Chili must be prepared in advance, and each contestant must bring chili in their own crock pot or heated serving dish.
   

• Bone Haus will provide electrical outlet for all crock pots. Chili must be warm upon arrival. 
   

• Contestants must prepare 5 quarts of chili.
   

• All ingredients are acceptable to use, no restrictions. If you are using ingredients people may be allergic to, please let us know before-hand so we can make signs to be posted at your station.
   

• Each contestant may provide other common condiments such as shredded cheese, diced onions, etc. NO SOUR CREAM PLEASE.
   

• Bone Haus will provide ladles for serving.  
   

• Bone Haus will provide eating utensils including bowls, spoons and napkins.
   

• Each contestant will be assigned a numbered station where they will serve their chili to guests.
   

• Sampling will take place between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
   

• There will be a judging panel of judges who will award their three (3) top-rated chilis, which will be crowned the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Judged Competition.
   

• ​There will also be a "Fan Favorite" component where all guests will vote for their top three (3) choices, with the top three (3) vote-getters crowned the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Fan Favorite Competition. All guests will be given a score card that includes each chili and its corresponding number for voting.
   

• The prizes for the top 3 winners in each of the Judged Competition and the Fan Favorite Competition: 1st Place in each competition will receive a $25 Bone Haus Gift Card, 2nd Place will receive a $15 Bone Haus Gift Card, and 3rd Place will receive a $10 Bone Haus Gift Card. Each of the top three (3) places will also receive a Bone Haus pint glass! 
   

• Contestants are responsible for the clean-up of their station. Sanitation supplies will be provided by Bone Haus.
   

• Event staff will dispose of left over items after the close of the event.
